German Day 2020 "Karneval"

The first German Day that was planned in coordination with the Ohio State University German Club allowed for an exciting and dynamic day of events collected around the theme of 'Karneval'! These included fun and competitive games, such as a spelling bee, geographical map game, blind-box guessing game, food-image memory matching game, fairy tale charades, creating a mask following partner's directions, as well as a tour and scavenger hunt in the Ohio Union. This year we were able to host four schools and over 140 students, teachers and chaperones! (Olentangy Orange, Northmont, Pleasant Valley, and Teays Valley High schools). Every student received bag of swag=and every class a prize (graphic novels) courtesy of the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures at The Ohio State University, travel stipends for bussing were provided by the Arts and Science Outreach Grant, and many take-aways were distributed from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and the Goethe Institute!
